There are two opperators who run a Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry connection, LD Lines & Brittany Ferries.
Both Portsmouth and Le Havre are major ferry ports and are conveniently located to major road networks, making the route a great choice to fit with your travel plans.
The LD Lines ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre sails daily at 11pm cruising overnight and arriving in France at 8am the following day. However the Brittany Ferries sailing only runs from 16th May to 8th September and only sails Thursday to Sunday, it departs Portsmouth at 7am and arrives in Le Havre before 12pm local time.
The LD Lines overnight departure from Portsmouth arrives in Le Havre at 8am giving you a night’s sleep before you continue your travels wherever you may be going. The return journey is much shorter, it leaves France at 5pm and gets you back to the UK by 9.30pm.
The Le Havre Portsmouth route is served by the LD Lines cruise ferry the Norman Voyager and the high speed Brittany ferries Normandie Express.
Whist on-board the Norman Voyager you can choose to relax in one of the Comfortable cabins for a restful night’s sleep or dine at the “Le Bistro du Norman” Self-service restaurant, located at the front of the ship it is the perfect location to enjoy a sunset dinner or watch the day arrive over breakfast.

On-board the Normandie Express you have space to relax and freedom to walk around this High Speed Ferry. For the short ferry crossing to France you will find comfortable seating, bars, café and a boutique making it an enjoyable alternative to air travel.
