Getting to the Port
Kirkwall Bus Station is located 2 miles from Hatston Ferry Terminal in Kirkwall’s town centre of Kirkwall. Buses are operated by Stagecoach.
Stagecoach also operate a bus service from/to Kirkwall and St
Orkney Ferries operate a regular passenger ferry service from Kirkwall to the islands of Shapinsay, Stronsay, Sanday, Eday, Westray, Papa Westray and North Ronaldsay. Other inter-island services can be taken from Stromness, Houton in Orphir and Tingwall in Evie.
Kirkwall Airport is located 5½ miles from the Hatston Terminal and 3 miles from the town centre of Kirkwall. There is a regular bus service from Kirkwall to the airport, operated by Stagecoach. Inter-island services are operated by Loganair.
Parking Information
- Short stay (free of charge) car parking is available beside the Hatston Ferry Terminal.
- Long Stay (free of charge) parking, operated by Orkney Islands Council, is available 500 metres from the terminal building, close to the Hatston car check-in building.
