There are twelve daily ferries sailing from Ireland to Scotland. P&O Ferries sail six times a day from Larne to Cairnryan and Stena Line have six daily sailings from Belfast to Cairnryan. There are currently no sailing between the Republic of Ireland and Scotland.

There are currently no alternative routes to Scotland from Southern Ireland, Wales or England.

      If you are a British / Irish citizen, you do not need a valid passport. However, you will need to bring a form of identification with you. Acceptable forms of ID include:

      – A valid passport.
      – photographic driving license.
      – International Student Card.
      – government issued photo ID card.
      – health insurance/social security photographic card.
      – photographic bus/train pass.
      – EU Citizen Identity Card will usually suffice.

      There is a ferry from Ballycastle to Campbeltown which operates during the summer. Unfortunately we do not offer tickets for this route. This is something we will definitely consider adding at a later date. We are sorry we cannot be of more help.

  1. Looking to drive from Belfast to Aberdeen. Is there a car ferry from Cairnryan to Aberdeen as its for a friend’s wedding and my mam cannot fly

      Unfortunately there is not a ferry from Cairnryan to Aberdeen. You would have to drive or take public transport.
