I’ve never made this crossing but look forward to in near future. I have a slightly odd question but has anyone been on deck on a clear night or day in the middle of the channel & enjoyed the panorama of seeing both Purbeck & the Cherbourg peninsula ? A Lymington lobster fisherman once claimed he’d seen Barfleur & St Catherine’s lights from midway which I found intriguing !
Is Barfleur a proper ship. I want to avoid catamaran fast crossing which can be very uncomfortable,
Hi Dee
Yes, the Barfleur is a proper ship. I’ve linked the ships name to the P&O Ferries website so you can see all the details and specs for yourself. I hope this helps.
