The once well-traveled maritime route connecting Germany and the UK via ferries has become a vestige of the past.

Although ferries from Germany no longer exist, you can go via one of it’s neighbouring countries. Why not consider getting the ferry from Holland and France. This will get you within a few hours drive of Germany. There are direct trains from Germany to Amsterdam including a direct service from Berlin to Amsterdam.

Ferries from Germany from Europe

If your traveling from Germany to Europe, you can currently sail directly to Latvia and Sweden using Stena Line. Alternatively you can sail from Germany to Finland and Sweden using Finnlines. Below is a list of all the current ferries from Germany.

If you are sailing from Germany to Latvia, you can take the Travemünde to Liepājaroute onboard the Stena Livia and Stena Flavia. The route takes 22 hours and occurs once a day.

Alternatively you can sailing from Germany to Sweden and take Kiel to Gothenburg route onboard the Stena Germanica and Stena Scandinavica. The sailing take 14 hours 30 minutes and sails 5 times a day. Another route you can take the Rostock to Trelleborg route sailing onboard the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern & Skåne. The crossing takes 6 hours and occurs 3 times a day.

If you are sailing from Germany to Finland, you can take the Travemünde to Helsinki. The sailing occurs onboard the Finnland, Finnmaid and Finnstar. The route takes 30 hours and occurs once a day.

If you are sailing from Germany to Sweden, you can take the Travemünde to Malmö. The sailing occurs onboard the Finnswan, Finntrader and Finnpartner. The route takes 9 hours and occurs twice a day.
