  1. Missing the nice day trips to the channel Islands that condor did from Poole. Most quality ferry companies don’t charge extra for bicycles – Condor didn’t on the day trips and certainly Spanish / Greek island ferries also don’t charge a penalty for taking a bike. I guess DFDS are so overrun with an excess of customers that they don’t feel it necessary to offer value. I can’t see me giving my business to DFDS anytime soon. (The LIDL Plus £30 discount offer may have overcome this shortcoming but there is no area on the DFDS website to put in promo codes – I guess this is a performance issue which DFDS could up their game on)

    1. Hi Paul

We are sorry to hear that you are frustrated with DFDS. We value all opinions of the operators, good and bad. I have looked into the Lidl offer which you mentioned and unfortunately it expired on 26/4/26. If it is a trip to France which you are looking to book, may we suggest booking with either P&O Ferries or Irish Ferries on their Dover to Calais routes, as an alternative to using DFDS?
