Ferry from Fishguard to Dublin
Many travellers search for a direct ferry from Fishguard to Dublin, expecting an easy crossing between west Wales and Ireland’s capital.
However, no such ferry route exists. There are currently no operators offering direct sailings from Fishguard to Dublin.
That said, you still have two excellent alternatives if you’re travelling from Fishguard or the surrounding area.
Firstly, you can take the regular ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare. This route is operated by Stena Line and runs twice daily, offering services for both foot passengers and vehicles. Once you arrive in Rosslare, it’s just under a two-hour drive to Dublin. The route is well signposted and takes you along Ireland’s scenic east coast, making for an enjoyable onward journey.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to sail directly into Dublin, consider travelling north to Holyhead in North Wales. From there, both Irish Ferries and Stena Line operate multiple daily crossings to Dublin. The drive from Fishguard to Holyhead takes around 5 hours, but it’s a good option if you want to arrive directly into the city without any additional driving in Ireland.
