Getting to the Port

The terminal is well sign-posted from the main access routes around Caen as “CAR FERRY”. The autoroute is close to the port and offers easy access to Paris, the Loire, the south, and Brittany.

Take the N175 to Mont St Michel and Brittany. Use the N13 for Bayeux and Cherbourg. The N158 leads to Le Mans and the Loire Valley.

Frequent trains run from London’s Paddington Station to Plymouth taking 3 to 4 hours. For rail information visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

The nearest railway station is in Caen, about 18km from the port. Regular TER and Intercité services depart from Caen train station to Paris St Lazare.

Twisto operates the bus service between Ouistreham and Caen. The route takes you to Caen city centre and buses depart about 500 yards from the terminal. View timetables and further details on the Twisto website.

This service does not run for evening ferry arrivals or departures and the buses are not adapted for disabled travellers.

Flixbus operates from Caen city centre to other French towns such as Rouen, Amiens, Nantes, Avranches, Dinard and Lille. For more information visit their website.

There are usually taxis waiting outside the terminal for ship arrivals and departures. If there are no taxis, the tourist information desk can call a taxi for you.

Taxi fares from the terminal to Caen train station range from around €38 during the day (7am to 7pm) to €53 in the evening (7pm to 7am).
