Getting to the Port
Going south from Exeter, head southwest on the A38 to Plymouth. Exit the A38 at the A374 and follow signs to the ‘continental ferry port’.
Frequent trains run from London’s Paddington Station to Plymouth taking 3 to 4 hours. For rail information visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.
Plymouth Citybus operates buses from the train station into the city centre but there is no direct bus to the ferry terminal. Local bus information can be found at www.plymouthbus.co.uk
National Express has frequent daily bus services between London’s Victoria Coach Station and Plymouth coach station on Mayflower Street. The coach station is around 25 minutes’ walk from the terminal. Visit www.nationalexpress.com for schedules and information.
Cycling from the train station or coach station to the port takes less than 10 minutes. E-bikes are available to rent from Beryl Bays near the train and coach station, and at the port.
It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the ferry terminal from the town centre, 25-30 minutes from the coach station and 30-35 minutes from the train station.
Parking Information
The car park is run by Parking Eye on behalf of ABP, who own the port.

I am dropping off my wife to catch the ferry to France, is there a drop off point as my friend saw no signs when they visited the area last week
Hi Mark
There isn’t a specific drop off point at Plymouth Port, but the car park there allows you to park for 30 minutes for free. We think this may offer a good solution for you. I hope this helps.
I cannot find where I go to book and pay for car parking in advance. Can you help
Hi Megan
I am unsure if parking can be booked in advance or not. The car park is run by a company called ABP. ABP can be contacted on 01752 662191. Sorry we cannot be of more help.
Can we park in the port car park for 12 days? If so, do we need to book?
Hi James
It doesn’t look like you can pre book parking prior to travel. I cannot find a definitive answer to whether or not you can park for 12 days. Here is the phone number if you wish to contact them directly and ask.

How far is the long term car park from the ferry access. Is it easliy walkable. We intend to leave a car for 8 days while travelling to Santander.
Hi Peter
The car park is located right beside the main Plymouth Ferry Terminal building. You will only need to cross the street to reach it. I hope this helps.
Hi there do we need to pay for parking in advance if we are going to leave our car at Plymouth port for 10 days?
Hi Natalie
Parking can be booked in advance or paid for on the day. I hope this helps.
Hi im travelling as a foot pasenger on 29March to the 31March can i pay in advance for parking Many Thanks
Hi Daryl
All fares have to be booked and paid for in advance. I hope this helps.
Hi there. On April 2nd (Sunday) we will arrive by car to board a ferry as foot passengers. We will return the following Friday (6 days). What fee would we pay to park our car at the Port?
Hi Derek
Parking is changed at £12 for 24 hours. So for six days parking it will cost £72. I hope this helps.
We are travelling as foot passengers on a Saga holiday to northern Spain. Is there anywhere near the port where we can leave our car for 16 nights whilst we are away?
Hi Pat
Unfortunately, apart from the car park listed in the post we are unaware of any others in the area. I am sorry we cannot be of more help.
