DFDS Ferries to France
DFDS offers three different ferry routes from the UK to France, sailing from Dover and Newhaven.
You can sail from Dover to either Calais or Dunkirk, further west along the south coast you can sail from Newhaven to Dieppe giving you access into Normandy and western France. DFDS have all your options covered for ferries to France. Their ferries from Dover are quick and convenient taking you across the Channel in less than two hours. If your final destination is central or southern France then Calais is the best the choice, though if you’re heading for Holland, Belgium, Germany or eastern Europe, then Dunkirk will save you on miles and time.

If your heading to Normandy or somewhere else in northern or western France, then DFDS other two ferries to France may be the choice for you. Sail from either the ports of Newhaven to Dieppe, this route is a longer crossing, but will save you driving time and miles which you will get to enjoy relaxing on-board as your cruise to France.
Newhaven is the closest UK port to London and just 10 miles from the popular seaside town of Brighton.
Dunkirk, Calais and Dieppe ports all have fast, easy access to France’s superb motorway network, so once you drive off one of the modern DFDS ferries getting to where you need to be is as easy as possible – just don’t forget to drive on the right!
